New Initiatives: Members discuss positives

At September’s luncheon meeting at the New Jersey Motorsports Park, the featured speakers were members of the Chamber who have been instrumental in the formation and implementation of the new membership initiative that kicked off in 2015.

The six members took turns offering their insight on various programs unveiled this year with an open invitation to all members to increase their involvement in Chamber activities and, in the process, strengthen their own businesses.

President Larry Malone kicked off the 40-minute presentation with a simple message to all members. “If you need help from the Chamber, just ask,” Malone told the group. “We have the resources here to make a difference.”        Other members who spoke candidly of their own positive experiences with the Greater Millville Chamber of Commerce and the various programs now under way included Jerry Covella, Angela Speakman, Gary Moellers, Gail Marino and Marianne Lods.

At Inspira: Turnure Honored

The guest speaker at October's chamber luncheon was Christina M. Renna, Vice President, Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey.

She provided a brief legislative update on two critical policy issues that could impact our members – a statewide mandated earned sick leave policy for businesses of all sizes and an update on several pieces of UEZ legislation getting attention in the New Jersey Legislature.

Renna currently serves as Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce Southern New Jersey.  In this role, she is the Chamber’s primary representative on all issues related to public policy, including providing verbal and written testimony before the New Jersey Legislature.
